  1. How long is the online course?

The Reinforced Concrete Course will take the average person 20 to 25 hours to complete. Since it is completed at your own pace, you may take longer or even less time than that.

  2. Do you offer a guarantee?

SI Certs guarantees results. We have prepared, from the ground up, the best and most unique online preparatory course for the ICC Reinforced Concrete test at an incredibly affordable price. If you do not pass the ICC Reinforced Concrete test, SI Certs will extend your course subscription until you have successfully passed. This means you can take the course over again, or simply review the sections you need from the results given to you by your testing center. There's no risk, guaranteed. See the Course page for more detailed information on membership extension.

  3. Is this a cheater course?

No. We do not take you through the code and highlight questions that are supposedly on the test. You will actually learn reinforced concrete, and at the same time prepare to pass the ICC Reinforced Concrete test. SI Certs is the best interactive online learning vehicle available.

  4. Once I sign up, how long do I have access to the course?

Once you register with sicerts.com, you have 90 days of complete online access to all course teaching materials. This is done to promote regular, consistent studying to prepare for the test. Any candidate wanting to sign up at sicerts.com should only do so if planning to take the test within 3 months. The goal is to obtain your Reinforced Concrete ICC certification quickly! After 90 days, you will no longer have access to the course. Realistically, if studying only 1 hour a night, you will complete the course in less than one month.

  5. Do I need any other study materials for the course?

The course is designed to teach you Reinforced Concrete while helping you become familiar with the references you will need during the test. You will need these three books for this course: ACI 318-08; Model Program for Special Inspection; and the International Building Code 2009, listed in order of importance. SI Certs' Reinforced Concrete course frequently references sections from these code books for study and important charts that you should become familiar with. You must have these books with you during your taking of the course. Without it you will not be able to correctly answer study and practice questions, nor adequately prepare for the test.

  6. What should I expect from the online course?

When preparing for the Reinforced Concrete test, you will notice that the amount of information and references specified by ICC for study is overwhelming (see the National Certification Examination Information Bulletin, downloadable from iccsafe.org). SI Certs has organized all of the study information required and built an interactive, fully-online course with hand-drawn illustrations, explanations, and audio commentary for understanding what's necessary from the code and for learning plan reading. The course builds concepts from lesson to lesson, teaching you Reinforced Concrete and preparing you to take and pass the Reinforced Concrete ICC test.

  7. Do I need to have experience to take an ICC special inspector exam?

Except for the Reinforced Concrete and Prestressed Concrete Special Inspector, there is no prerequisite for experience or education to take an ICC inspector exam. (The prerequisite for Prestressed is Reinforced Concrete.) ICC’s inspector certification exams are completely voluntary. However, you should have at least some familiarity with various construction terms prior to signing up for our course.

  8. Where do I go to take an ICC certification exam?

Pearson Vue is the proctor for ICC inspector exams and they have over 250 testing locations throughout the United States. To locate a test center in your area go to www.pearsonvue.com/icc.

  9. Where can I get more information on ICC's special inspector certification exams?

You can get detailed information directly from ICC from the National Certification Examination Bulletin.

  10. Is SI Certs endorsed by the International Code Council?

Yes, we are affiliated with the International Code Council by membership and we take a proactive approach in promoting the organization's goals and mission. However, our courses are not sponsored nor endorsed by ICC as of yet.

  11. What is the cost of the course?
