Temperature Measuring Device (TMD) Requirements

The thermometer in use must adhere to the following requirements:

  1. Measure to within +/- 1 degree Fahrenheit
  2. Measuring device must read between 30 to 120 degrees
  3. Have 3-inches concrete cover in all directions
  4. Be inserted a minimum of 3-inches
  5. Be left in concrete a minimum of 2 min., maximum of 5 min.
  6. Be calibrated annually, or if there’s a question of accuracy
  7. Not vary by more than 1 degree Fahrenheit when verified against a reference thermometer
